Paste a full link, or a bare domain. The checker follows the address, then inspects DNS, the TLS certificate, HTTP behavior, and WHOIS. If the link arrived by email, add who claimed to send it. The result is Safe or Not safe.
This is an indicator. Verify the destination yourself before entering credentials or sending money.
